Wyncote results: Brian Duffy and Greg Sadowski is warming up for the OPEN

Wyncote provided the nice tuning event for the 2019 Knucklehead OPEN in Alabama. And from the scores reported, it sounds like Brian Duffy and Greg Sadowski is more than ready for the challenge. With a brilliant net 73, Brian Duffy and Greg Sadowski captured the Wyncote event. It should be noted that Greg Sadowski shoots 73 gross to tie Brian Duffy. Now that’s golf. All others struggled on the links style layout of Wyncote with high 90’s.

The round was unfortunately marred by the slowness of the play due to a fog delay earlier and a double booking “a true knucklehead move by Wyncote” of the outing for about 40 people. These two unfortunate actions had golfers jammed on every hole and made the round much longer than the usual Knucklehead round of 5 1/2 hours (joke). But it was reported slow. In addition there were no Rice and no Yim however Mr. Ken Smoot graced the group with his presence. With his presence, not with his play. In the end, 6 Knuckleheads soldiered on and put the round in the record books. Good thing the weather cooperated nicely.

1st: tie between Greg Sadowski and Brian Duffy-both had net 73
3rd: we had $2 left over from the clears so we gave it to Ken Smoot at net 74
The CTP on #14 went to Greg Muolo
Clears were numerous and several benefited from getting 2 strokes on the hole
Ken Smoot corralled 4 clears for $24, Greg Muolo garnered 3 clears for $18. They left a small nibble for Gill Nichols who won the remaining clear for $6
