The event started with rain the previous night and steady drizzle in the morning dampening the mood of the knuckleheads arriving to wanting to play well and move up on the Tour Series Standings. Due to  the continued drizzle in the morning and strong gusting wind, the course was pretty empty and playing extremely longer than the 6,000 yards appropriated.

But the day started to brighten and sun broke through after playing the 1st hole the rest of the day. The course was in OK shape. However there were no sand in bunkers and unmaintained un-mowed greens were thousand times slower than an Amish drag race. We guesstimated that on the stimpmeter, these greens were -5. Infact some of us were using 3-wood to putt.

Ironically Michael Jan complained that he will shoot 120 that day. And promptly 4-putted the 1st green after regulation on. But he steadied himself and garnered the days best NET round of 74 to take the 1st place honors. Brian Duffy played very consistent as usual but gave away at least 2 tap in putts that spun out on him. His explanation, “I had to hammer that sucker to get it to the hole!”. He comes in 2nd with NET 76. Sneaking up to 3rd was Jerome Lyons with NET 78. The rest of the group had forgettable rounds other than Greg Moulo taking CTP’s the first two par 3’s putting Knuckleheads on notice of CTP sweep watch (A rare Knucklehead record). Unfortunately, his swing failed him the last two par 3’s as Jerome stopped him on #11 and Johnny B took t#16.

Despite the prevailing tough conditions like 30+ MPH gusting wind, there were 7 clears to split $50. Johnny B takes the long ass par 5 #2 hole, Greg Moulo takes the clear with a beautiful 6 iron to within 6 ft for a natural birdie on #4. #9 was a RULE 80 hole for couple of folks like Dick Markle and Greg Moulo who had opportunity to jump on the “reduced length”. Unfortunately, they were unable to capitalize the tee markers that were moved up 1/2 INCH enabling Jerome to take the clear there. Michael Jan takes the clear on a tough par 5 #10 and Jerome takes the par 3 #11. Kwang Yim takes #14 and #17 with lucky shots.
