Richland results
The tour series #7 event at Richland turned out to be a cool fall afternoon; fortunately with no rain clouds in site. Although there was plenty of wild hurricane golf shots on the course.
Usually the incoming street does not come into play from the golf course. However Michael Jan faded / sliced his opening tee shot a bit too far right on the first hole and luckily avoided the road. On the third hole Bob Ingram did a hefty yank off the tee and his tee shot ended up in the second set of trees about 10 yards from the road. Fortunately for him the rough kept the golf ball from going into road.
Andy Weston-Dawkes did not experience those type of wild shots and smoked the course shooting a 39 on the back side to a round of 85 net 69 to capture first place. Bruce Grau played a smooth even keel round to squeeze into second place with a net 74. Michael Jan did actually recover from his opening tee shot and shot a smooth 39 on the front side to grab third place with a net 75.
Gill Nichols started off the CTPs with a nice 6 iron on the 160 yard #4 hole to capture its CTP. Bruce Grau used his 3 hybrid and rolled his golf ball within a couple of feet on the 190 yard #6 hole to capture that CTP. Bob Ingram flew his 5 iron to within 20 feet on the 170 yard #11 hole. Kwang Yim took the description of the Richland golf course a bit too literal. The golf course description is “Rick Jacobson design that cascades over the rolling countryside”. Well after finishing the #11 hole Kwang Yim rolled his ankle on a green apple on his walk back to the golf cart which caused him to flop down on his back to the ground. Afterwards he reasserted himself by hitting a nice 9 iron on the #16 150 yard hole to capture the last CTP.
Jeff Gruel started off the CLEARS barrage with a nice par on the 320 yard par 4 #3 hole. Gill Nichols drained his birdie putt in the hole on the #4 par hole for a CLEAR. Not to be outdone, Bruce Grau also drained his birdie putt on the on the 190 yard #6 hole to capture a CLEAR there. On the back side Andy WD took over and grabbed four CLEARS. First CLEAR was a nice par on the 170 yard #11 hole. Andy also made a nice par on the tight 325 yard #13 hole to capture his second CLEAR. He also made a nice par on the uphill 346 #15 hole for his third CLEAR. But his beast CLEAR was his fourth CLEAR which was a birdie on the finishing 497 yard #18 hole (picture above). Congrats Andy on shooting that 39 on the backside.
Thanks again for keeping the language to a dull roar especially around the Valley Grill and the wedding party at Richland golf course. We didn’t want to be the ones accused of spoiling their day.
