Quail Valley results

What a crazy day at Quail Valley. First a big thank you to management at Quail Valley for allowing us to go with an additional tee slot and have 13 in the group. For the amount of play, the country course at Quail Valley was in great shape. However as usual the Knucklehead scores were ALL over the place.

Congrats to Andy Weston-Dawkes for driving the ball well off the tee having the driver on cruise throughout the round and finishing with a net 68 to grab first place. Bob Ingram was at overall net 72 for the round to squeeze in second place. Dick Markle made numerous lengthy putts to finish in third place with a net 74. In fourth place and right off the cruise ship was Bruce Grau with a net 75. And rounding out the top five prize money leaders was a three way tie for fifth place between Gill Nichols, John Hassett, and John Braun all finishing with a net 77 and each collecting a substantial $2 for finishing tied for fifth.

There were a variety of par 3 CTP winners. John Braun nailed his #5 hybrid on the #2 hole to within a couple of feet to capture the CTP there. Michal Jan used his 7 iron to perfection in capturing the CTP on #7 hole. Jerome Lyons hit a nice 9 iron to about 10 feet on Quail Valley’s island green #13 hole to capture that CTP. Another crazy bit was the 17th hole and the final par 3 as this hole caused fits since 8 of the 13 tee shots found the water. Bob Ingram was able to successfully find the green with his 7 iron to grab the final CTP.

And the last crazy bit was the distribution of CLEARS. John Hassett garnered one CLEAR on the tight fairway #4 hole and drained a 69 foot putt for a birdie and a CLEAR. Andy Weston-Dawkes was able to successfully par the straight-away par 4 #16 hole to capture the second CLEAR. As there were only two CLEARS, each player collected $40.
