Quail Valley Results

Windy conditions were very much a factor for the first tour series event in 2021. With the greens running smooth and quick at Quail Valley, the scores reflected a challenging day. Jerome Lyons was able to calm the conditions as he shot a net 70 to capture first place with an 87;  only one of three people that shot under 90. Dick Markle was in a close second with a net 73 and Gill Nichols finished out the top three with a net 74.

The windy conditions also affected the iron shots to the par 3’s as the number of greenies were few. However Gill Nichols was able to capture all three CTPs with his best iron shot finishing within 7 feet of the pin on the #13 hole island green.  

The six CLEARS were distributed quite evenly. Tim Rice had one on the #5 par-5 hole with a nice birdie, Greg Muolo parred the difficult #6 par-4 hole where the green is fronted by water, Gill Nichols was able to par the #7 par-3 hole with a stroke, Bob Ingram parred the dog-leg right #8 hole along with a stroke, Jerome Lyons birdied the #12 hole, and Jeff Gruel completed the CLEARS with a nice par on the long par-5 #15 hole along with an additional stroke.
