Heritage Hills Results
The Tour Series event at Heritage Hills was met with mild weather relatively speaking for month of August. The relatively calm day was soon to be disrupted by the tour series event in York Pa.
Starting the fireworks was Michael Jan who came out blazing with three birdies in the first four holes. However Kwang Yim played steady throughout the round to post an 82 net 68 to capture first place prize. In the same foursome, Brian Duffy finished one shot behind with a net 69 and Greg Muolo finished in third place with a net 71. Michael Jan was able to capture fourth place prize with a net 73 but was expecting much more after his torrid start.
Kwang Yim’s mastery was seen on the par 3’s as he captured the CTP on both par threes on the front side using a 7-iron on the 155 yard #5 hole and a 6-iron on the 164 yard #8 hole. Greg Sadowski captured the CTP on the longest par 3 the 186 yard #12 hole using a 6 iron. And Rick Pricinsky used a driver to capture the CTP on 180 yard #15 hole.
Miichael Jan’s birdies on first two holes allowed him to claim a CLEAR on both holes. However his birdie on #4 hole was outdone by Rick Princinsky’s birdie on that hole to beat him for that CLEAR. Rick Princinsky followed it up with a nice par/ net birdie on the downhill 155 yard #5 hole to claim another CLEAR. Brian Murphy made a nice par on the difficult 476 yard par 5 hole to claim a CLEAR. And Kwang parred the par 3 164 yard hole to claim a CLEAR to finish the front side.
On the back side Jerome Lyons cleaned up the CLEARS with a nice par on the par 4 353 yard #13 hole. He then followed it up with a sweet birdie on the uphill 351 yard #14 hole. Topping off his third CLEAR was a solid par on the par 4 332 yard #17 hole. So all is going good right ? WRONG. His drive on the 18th hole skinned Bob Ingram’s knee as he was standing off to the right of the fairway. Jerome’s second shot landed in the sand bunker right of the green (as shown above). He then thinned his bunker shot to the left front green side bunker. After escaping from that bunker he then proceeded to four putt for a solid 8 on the final hole. In contrast Brian Duffy piped his drive down the middle and using a hybrid stuck his ball to about 30 feet from the pin. And made the putt for a birdie and claimed the final CLEAR.
Afterwards the gang had food and drinks at the outdoor patio bar and discussed some politics with the locals.
