Gettysburg Links Results
The Gettysburg Links reduced prices for Monday Labor Day provided a good turnout as we had 13 knuckleheads showing up even though 12 players had signed up but we were able to manage it.
Kwang Yim took advantage of the soft fairways and greens and peppered the course for a fabulous 77 score to finish in first place. Greg Muolo played a super round shooting a net 71 to finish in overall second place. John Braun kept his birthday celebration going strong with a net 74 to finish in third place – – an unbelievable good score after a full night of drinking and dancing. Tying in fourth place were Bob Ingram and Brian Duffy with a net 75.
As the group started out on the back nine holes Dick Markle and Kwang Yim group was smoking. Dick Markle got a clear on the 342 downhill dogleg right #11 hole with a par. Dick Markle continued his CLEAR barrage with a beauty par on the tough 400 yard par 4 #13 hole. Kwang Yim stepped in and grabbed a CLEAR on the next hole with a birdie on the par 5 517 yard #14 hole. Dick Markle responded with a birdie on the 170 yard par 3 #15 hole. Kwang finished up their CLEAR barrage with a strong par on the 390 yard #16 hole. Only Greg Sadowski interrupted their CLEAR streak with a birdie on the par 3 145 yard #12 hole. Note it was not all rosey for Dick Markle on his first nine holes as he managed to shoot a 10 on the #14 hole and a 9 on the #16 hole. Surprisingly no one had a net birdie on the relatively short par 5 463 yard #18 hole pictured above.
On the first nine holes Brian Duffy grabbed a CLEAR on the first hole with a sweet birdie on the 335 yard #1 hole. Brian grabbed another CLEAR as he followed up with another birdie on the #6 135 yard par 3 hole. Big winner Kwang Yim finished up his excellent round with a chip-in birdie on the 363 yard #9 finishing hole.
The winners of CTP were Bob Ingram on #3 160 yard hole with a 7-iron. Kwang Yim used an 8-iron on the #6 135 yard hole to capture its CTP. Kwang then followed up with a 6-iron on the 145 yard #12 hole for its CTP. Dick Markle stuck his 6-iron close to the 170 yard #15 hole for its CTP.
