Carroll Valley Results

The second tour series offered a couple of surprises;  nice weather in Pa,  golf course was in excellent shape, and the grill was available after the round for some drinks.  Carroll Valley golf course provided a stern test with its long par 3s and relatively quick greens.

Brian Duffy was able to handle the quick greens with excellent putting skills in route to a 78; net 66 to claim first place.   A long ways away was Bob Ingram in second place with a net 70.  Rounding out the top 4 was Kwang Yim and Dick Markle both finishing with a net 76.   

Kwang led off the CLEARS barrage with a nice birdie on the first hole 488 yard par 5.  Brian Duffy claimed two CLEARS with a birdie on #7 hole and a birdie on the #17 hole 526 yard par 5. A face from the past Dave Jernigan also claimed two CLEARS with a superb birdie on the difficult 376 yard #10 hole and a nice par/net birdie on the 421 yard par 4 #16 hole.

Brian Duffy also mastered the par 3s with closest to the pins on #3 hole with his 7-iron;  a 6-iron on the uphill #15 hole, and 6-iron again on the closing #18 hole. Greg Muolo hit a smoking 3 wood to the rather long 200 yard par 3 #11 hole to claim a CTP.  Michael Jan hit a nice 5-iron to the #5 182 yard par 3 hole within 20 feet for that CTP. Unfortunate for him he 4 putted from 20 feet. Only the #8 hole 198 yard par 3 remained unreachable by the group.

Everybody bellied up to the drinking tables inside Carroll Valley grill for a post round food & drinks.
