Clustered Spires Results

The snowfall early Friday morning incentivized myself to finalize the email on the Clustered Spires results. Fortunately Knuckleheads were lucky to grab a nice weather day in early fall on Saturday November 2 to partake in the Finale of the 2024 Tour Series. Clustered Spires golf course provided a challenging layout and for the most part the leaves were not a factor.  Plus the golf course cafeteria cooks provided some free hot dogs and chocolate bites at the end of the round.

Bob Ingram didn’t allow the beauty of the fall leaf colors to distract him as he shot a 78 ; net 73 to capture first place. In a tie for second place three shots back were Jerome Lyons and Kwang Yim with a net 76. Finishing in fourth place was Brian Duffy with a net 78.

The CLEARs were started off with by honorable John Hassett as he was on a four Tour Series streak of CLEARs. On the 331 yard #4 hole John Hassett made an excellent par to grab a CLEAR. Andy Weston-Dawkes followed up with a CLEAR of his own on the 351 yard #6 hole. Brian Duffy joined the CLEARs bandwagon with a par on the straightaway 362 yard #8 hole. Jerome Lyons made a nice scrambling sand shot for a par and a CLEAR on the 364 yard #9 hole.  Andy completed the CLEARs with an excellent birdie on the 342 yard #17 hole.

On the CTP side John Braun used his trusty 7-iron to capture the first CTP of the day on the 139 yard #2 hole. John Hassett used a 5-iron on the 163 yard #7 hole to get add a CTP to his winning collection. Brian Murphy was not to be denied and grabbed a CTP on the 134 yard #12 hole. Bob Ingram completed the CTPs using his driver to fade a shot on the longer 207 yard #16 hole.

The golf course was for the most part in decent shape. And as stated early the cafeteria workers were willing to drop off some free items for our tummies. Made the trip to Frederick’s Clustered Spires enjoyable.
