The Knucklehead Tour series will be utilizing the summer-time weekday rates to have an event at an upscale golf course. The choice for the upscale event has been selected as Maryland National golf course located in Middletown, MD on the outskirts of Frederick.
Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of central Maryland with views of the Catoctin Mountains, Maryland National Golf Club’s picturesque 18-hole, par 71 layout provides an unforgettable golfing experience. Designed by world-renowned architect Arthur Hills, Maryland National takes full advantage of the dramatic terrain changes and wetlands surrounding the course. From long, rolling fairways to magnificent holes carved out of natural wooded lowlands and various water hazards, each hole of this layout provides a unique challenge sure to inspire any golfer.
Some memorable holes of the golf course include hole #16 (pictured above) which is a short par 4 that has plenty of options off the tee box. A meandering creek extends from the right of the forward tee box to the left side of the green. The overhanging limbs of the Ash tree to the left of the green await even the slightest mistake. Aggressive play could be rewarded with an eagle chance should you thread the needle. A lay up area short of the creek may appeal to the more conservative player.
Tee times start at 12:30. Senior rate of $59 is in effect for Thursday so be helpful to those golfers under age 55 by paying their greens fees.
Add $15 for overall low-net, closest to the pin, and CLEARS (which are basically SKINS for the ONLY low net score on each hole) . Tour series fees of $30 are required BEFORE YOUR third event. Tour series is contest for overall points throughout the year of YOUR BEST FOUR events. FINALE event (usually late October / early November) will again be worth double the points.
